Stray Feathers Press was established in 2007 by Bruce Whittington to publish his second book, Wildlife Watch on an Alaska Cruise. In 2013 a revised edition of this book was released, with a new title, Alaska Cruise Wildlife Watch. Bruce’s third book, What’s That Island? was published in 2010. His first book, a collection of essays entitled Seasons With Birds, was published in 2004 by TouchWood Editions in Victoria, BC.
Bruce Whittington is a freelance writer, photographer and naturalist who has led dozens of tours on the west coast, and elsewhere in North America and Mexico. He is a founder of Habitat Acquisition Trust, a regional land trust in Victoria, BC, an Honorary Life Member of the Victoria Natural History Society and a member of its Bird Records Committee. He has lived in Ladysmith, BC since 2004, where he has served as a municipal councillor. He also works with his wife Wanda Dombrowski, a painter, in her framing shop and gallery called Bayview Framing & Art.
